How To Plan A Wedding | Week 7

Week 7 of how to plan a wedding is jam packed with party planning and sweet treats! Keep in mind these tasks are all still 6 months before the wedding!

Here are previous weeks if you have some catching up to do!

Find Your Groom A Tux– We live in a world FULL of options! From colorful tuxes, to foregoing the jacket in place of a vest or suspenders. Grooms have so many more options than they used to! Take some time to sit down and discuss comfort, color and style that your Fiancé will feel like a million bucks in! Let his personality shine, and let him know you value his opinion. That alone will get him excited about this task!

Plan The Rehearsal Dinner– Typically a rehearsal dinner is hosted the evening before the wedding, and is a time to get together with you loved ones and not only do your trial run of the wedding day, but also to celebrate that you survived this whole wedding planning thang! Fun fact, my rehearsal dinner was a bunch of our bridal party and close family coming to the venue the day before, helping setup, and eating tacos (and not even fancy tacos, I’m talking drive through tacos) and that is what happens when you do not have a plan. So here are a few tips for the actual rehearsal dinner!

Designate a host-If you’re going traditional, typically it is the groom’s parents, but it does not have to be. Sometimes both parents go in together for the planning. Or if you two are set on being the hosts yourselves, I don’t see any issue with that either!

Guest list– Typically you will invite close family and friends. Also include anyone involved in your actual ceremony, and their immediate family.

Plan a theme– Whether you are choosing to keep everything very formal or going super casual, I think this is a fun way to go all out and get creative! Like maybe having the dinner at the very restaurant you two had your first date, or a bridal party movie night after, even going bowling! Don’t be afraid to stray from the norm and think outside the box!

Talk about the big day!– Make sure to announce any last minute reminders to the guests. Whether it be clarifying family portrait time (So important!) choosing any last minute delegations, etc.

Wedding party gifts– This is a great time to hand out any gifts for the wedding party. Like your bridesmaids getting ready robes, or your groomsmen’s flasks. It not only gets them really excited, but it gives you one less thing to have to do the day of!

When the night of the dinner comes, freaking have fun yo!– Need I say more?

Select Your Cake!– Whoa buddy do I love this part of the wedding planing! Cake is just… freaking awesome! So when I tell you that this task consists of going to bakeries and literally EATING CAKE then I hope you’re like me and feel that this isn’t a chore at all. But a straight up blessing! Like everything you have to choose from for your big day though, there will be decisions decisions decisions. Like traditional cake vs cupcakes, naked cake or frosted, vanilla or chocolate. Maybe even a waffle cake, or doughnut bar… or s’mores buffet! Oh jeez I’m getting a little out of control! I just really love sweets!!! So if you need a friend to tag a long for cake tasting… 😉

Bridal Shower-Your bridal shower will usually take place anywhere from 2 months to 2 weeks before the wedding day. If you know about your bridal shower, than all you should really need to do is get a guest list together for your bridal party/maid of honor. They should handle the rest! (look how easy that one was!!!!)

Week 7 is now in the bag! So take a breather until week 8! You deserve it!
