Week 4

17. Create A Wedding Registry– I have seen a few couples forgo the registry all together! They already have everything they need for a happy home, so in its place they set up a honeymoon fund! I find this to be an amazing idea for some! But for the traditional registry, you will want to choose 2-4 registry sites/stores. It is a good idea to choose one with an local brick and mortar store and and another that is mainly online. That way no matter your guests preference, they have an option! I personally based my choice on deals (Hey, I’m going for transparency here!) So I researched what special offers different stores had available when you choose to register with them.

18. Make a wedding website– This is a great idea to give your guests access to all of your wedding day details! Showcase your wedding day theme on your site to create excitement from your guests! Make sure to only include events that all of your guest are invited to so that you do not cause any hurt feelings. The ideas for a website are endless but here’s a few. You could include a wedding day count down, or if your venue might be difficult for out of town guest to locate, a map would be a wonderful addition to your website! Along with registry links, photos of you two, and maybe even your love story! There are quite of few web hosts that have free website plans available so you do not have to worry about splurging on this!

19. Order Invitations- Whether you choose to have a calligrapher hand make your invites and envelopes (check out @burgundyblooms on instagram if you’re thinking about it!) Or you design your own online, now is the time to get errr done! You will need to send these out 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding. So if you’re wondering why the heck you should order them now, well mistakes do happen. So best to order them early to make sure everything is correct! Have another set of eyes double (and triple) check everything looks great before ordering can also help keep mistakes at a minimum! Also, addressing all of those envelopes is so tedious, you might have to start, take a break, and start again. Definitely give yourself plenty of time to get this done!

20. Plan A Honeymoon– Just like with your wedding you will want to make a budget for your honeymoon. Decide weather you both can be swept off right after the wedding, or if you need to plan a honeymoon well after the wedding. We got married on a Saturday, used Sunday to clean up, hopped on a plane, and were in Mexico on Monday! So I might be a wee pit partial to heading to the honeymoon right away! Find a flight or plan the drive, make your Hotel reservations (or airbnb is a great alternative!) If you’re leaving the country make sure to research the currency and what clothing you should bring along based on the weather. You will need to check with your bank or credit union to see if your credit/debit cards will work. Also don’t forget to get your passports done now, along with any vaccines you might need.
