So much happens in the first year of a baby’s life. Everyday you can see them change so much! In the blink of an eye your children will go from little swaddled glow worms that sleep all the time, to an independent tiny humans that say actual words. It is a huge milestone when they get to that first birthday. Which brings me to little Emma, who turns one year old today! I had so much fun getting to photograph her and her family this past weekend.

When I show up to a session with little kids, I have no idea what to expect. Children are extremely honest in almost everything they do, especially with their emotions. I mean let’s get real, no toddler is going to fake smile for an hour straight. So imagine how ecstatic I was when right out of the car, Emma was happy and waving, ready to smile for the crazy lady with a camera! Plus her mom brought goldfish crackers, which is a HUGE bonus when working with little ones! Because who doesn’t smile for goldfish?!

So happy first birthday to this gorgeous little girl (With stunning blue eyes I might add!) and a huge thank you to Stephanie, Gentry, and Miss Parker for getting in front of my camera and letting me be a part of this wonderful milestone!
